NASHVILLE — For a mid-March conference attended by more than 3,400 Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices agents and brokers (including former Prudential realtors) and coordinated by Corporate Magic, the AV setup included five rolling GV10mm carbon fiber LED panels (each 6’7” x 9’10”) from GoVision LP, L-R stationary projection screens (6’ x 9’) and LED triangles forming the shape of a house.

“As always, Corporate Magic hit the ball out of the park,” said Denise Doyle, Director of Conference & Meeting Services at HSF Affiliates LLC,which operates Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, Prudential Real Estate and Real Living Real Estate. “Everyone I’ve spoken to is saying that this was our best convention yet.”
The March 17-18 convention was set at the new Music City Center in Nashville under the theme “Stand Out: Live Life Loud.” Monday’s general session centered on the many ways the company is standing out in the hyper-competitive real estate market. The stage was set by best-selling author Marcus Buckingham, who drew from his latest book, fittingly titled Stand Out, to impart practical advice to attendees on identifying their top two “strength roles,” which can be harnessed to achieve a comparative advantage.
For the first time, Corporate Magic integrated a collection of five moveable LED screens into the staging to add a compelling visual element to its production. The 6’7” x 9’10” screens, constructed from 60 ultra-lightweight GV10mm carbon fiber LED panels provided by GoVision LP, were mounted on rollers and set in motion at various intervals. Stationary projection screens measuring 6’ x 9’ flanked each side of the stage. This dynamic staging allowed for a constantly changing look for the screens. In addition, LED triangles magically transformed the screen panels into the shape of a house onto which speech support appeared directly… truly fitting for this audience.
Kathrine Switzer, the first woman to enter the all-male Boston Marathon, delivered an inspiring keynote address about standing out from the crowd. Following a standing ovation, all 300 copies of her book, Marathon Woman: Running the Race to Revolutionize Women’s Sports, were purchased by attendees in an overwhelming response to her message.
Throughout the convention, Corporate Magic ensured that every element remained consistent with the central message, including the speeches from HSF Affiliates executives, the awards program recognizing the company’s top producers and the videos and live testimonials from affiliates gathered from across North America.
“HSF Affiliates does an amazing job of putting on a cohesive conference and we work hard to make sure the General Sessions help support the messaging and theme of the entire conference. This year, as a team we decided that one of the best ways to deliver on the theme was to let the people speak for themselves,” said Meg Lohr, Corporate Magic’s Senior International Account Manager. “Their words, coupled with powerful guest speakers and compelling visuals, carried the day. Attendees left Nashville with the message that the sky’s the limit when it comes to their future with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices.”
The biggest news of the night came when Earl Lee, CEO of HSF Affiliates, announced that Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices had been named “Real Estate Agency Brand of the Year” in the 26th annual Harris Poll EquiTrend study. The recognition was especially noteworthy as the company had been in the market a mere six months and beat out several big name competitors. It proved to be a dramatic way to wrap up a compelling two days of meetings focused on Standing Out!
The closing event of the convention, which was dedicated to raising funds for the Sunshine Kids charity, featured a scintillating live performance by country star Reba McEntire, who was preceded by up-and-coming artist Caroline Kole. One of the Sunshine Kids was invited to sing on-stage and Reba was so moved that she later arranged to make a personal donation to the charity, which is committed to serving children with cancer.
“Every aspect of the event, from the speakers and performers to the staging and visuals, was masterfully planned and executed by Corporate Magic in close cooperation with my team,” said Doyle. “The entire production delivered on the ‘Stand Out’ theme and reinforced the message that we needed to drive home. For 13 years, Corporate Magic has been an invaluable partner at our annual convention and we couldn’t be more pleased with their work.”
