NEW CASTLE, DE – Video equipment rental company Pete’s Big TVs provided high resolution LED video screens, two Barco 18K projectors, and monitors for the 2014 BET Honors. The seventh annual event, held February 8 at the Warner Theatre in Washington, DC, celebrated the achievements of African Americans in music, literature, entertainment, media, service and education. The show premieres around the world on BET’s international network Feb. 28.

To fulfill Designer/Art Director Jamie Carr’s vision for the show, Pete’s Big TVs supplied 200 digiLED MC7 panels for the main upstage screen, and 128 digiLED MC15 LED panels for stage left and stage right (64 panels on each side).
The LED video screens were chosen for their high resolution and no radio frequency interference. The panels displayed footage of the honorees’ career highlights, along with content from a media server for background patterns.
“We have done this show for several years now for one of the show producers Jesse Collins of Jesse Collins Entertainment,” said Pete’s Big TVs Vice President Guy Benjamin. “Our LED screens performed perfectly – the way we wanted them to – and everyone was happy our products, as well as our service from our crew Matt Ellar, Brent Jones and Alex Keene.”
Host was actor/comedian Wayne Brady. Performers included Mariah Carey, Jennifer Hudson, Janelle Monae, Tamar Braxton, Smokey Robinson and Karen Clarke Sheard.
The show celebrated the achievements of Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin; Motown Records founder and creator of Motown the Musical, Berry Gordy; American Express CEO/Chairman Ken Chenault, visual artist Carrie Mae Weems and entertainer Ice Cube. Presenters included Rev. Al Sharpton, Joe Morton, Ludacris and Mack Wilds.
Proceeds from the annual event’s ticket sales benefit the Women Veterans Interactive, an organization that provides housing options and support for veterans in need.
