LONDON — The High Definition Warehouse Event staged in Great Suffolk Street Warehouse here last fall featured EMTO’s Mambo 8 LED screen to clad the front of the DJ booth and also for a backdrop behind it in the event’s Arch 2 arena.
More details from EMTO (www.emto.co.uk):
The High Definition Warehouse Event was a large sold-out indoor showcase of cutting edge artists and DJs presented by Technical production was supplied by Light Design Ltd from Billericay in Essex whose Terry Lewsey is also one of the HD event organizers and promoters. HD events put great emphasis on production values and ensuring the best experiences for their audiences and artists.
He and Wes Matthews from EMTO have enjoyed a long and fruitful working relationship and Lewsey comments, “EMTO’s products are always good quality and innovative and the service and support is excellent … that’s why we chose to use this screen again”.
It was the second time that Light Design had used the 8 mm Mambo screen, but the first time at an HD event – although they did use EMTO 18mm screen products very successfully at their renowned summer HD Festival.
Arch Two of the HD Warehouse Event was curated exclusively for the evening by the Martinez Brothers from New York and so it was essential to provide a dynamical visual environment for their performance for which “The Mambo LED was a perfect and really elegant solution” comments Lewsey.
It was fed with content by a Hippotizer Media server.
MamboLED – available exclusively in the UK via Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire based EMTO – consists of ruggedly built 768 x 768 mm panels with a depth of just 114 mm, available in a range of pitches including 8, 9.6, 14 and 16 mm for outdoor use …. and in high resolution 4 and 6 mm for indoors.
Mambo has been designed specifically for the staging and rental industry. It features a patent-pending KWIK-Connect system that includes a king-pin and Allen key click pre-lock mechanism making panel connection faster and more secure. An adjustable hanging bracket makes panel height adjustment very straightforward compared to the conventional screen rigging.
Other advantages include slim-line casing, which enhances the light weight of just 18 Kgs per panel, and well placed ergonomically styled handles that make it practical for one person to set up.
Says Wes Matthews, “Terry’s events always look and sound fantastic and so it’s a great testament for our kit to be on them – it puts it in front of a lot of people and is used in interesting and imaginative ways”.
