NASHVILLE — For the fifth annual Live On The Green series of free concerts sponsored by radio station Lightning 100, event producer Chris Paxton credited the PixelFlex LED video curtains used as a backdrop for raising audience visuals to a new level.

The Live On The Green series has grown exponentially from year-to-year; this year, the series drew approximately 12,000 attendees per week to performances by 18 artists, including Michael Franti & Spearhead, Matt Nathanson, Local Natives, and Matt & Kim. For the last two weeks of shows, PixelFLEX provided 12 20mm panels to enhance the audience’s visibility of the stage and, more importantly, the performers.

“With the crowd size we experienced this year, it helped to alleviate the issue of people not being able to see the stage,” explained Chris Paxton, event producer for Live On The Green. “Additionally, the added sponsorship activation potential is a huge opportunity for us; being able to run video that our entire audience can see is something we will be able to deliver to our sponsors next year.”

The PixelFLEX panels were set up to the left of the stage to highlight live video streams while the artists were on stage and display a mix of sponsors in between artists. PixelFLEX handled all the set up and activation for the screens, as the Live On The Green production team needed the application to be turnkey within the small timeframe allotted.

“I was very impressed by the simplicity of set up, as well as PixelFLEX’s ability to successfully deliver an activation of this size and scope under a very limited timeframe,” remarked Paxton. “The team got it up and running on time and it went really well.”

With PixelFLEX LED curtains, videos and images can be sent to the screen using any computer with a DVI-D connection. PixelFLEX curtains are available from low resolution (100mm) to high resolution (6mm), allowing users to demonstrate simple effects or elaborate videos. The high caliber visual components of the curtains come with equally impressive customer service assistance and without the need for an extensive budget.
