NASHVILLE – Leadership Tennessee, an initiative of the Nelson and Sue Andrews Institute for Civic Leadership, is designed to bring business, nonprofit, education and government leaders together to discuss emerging challenges and opportunities. Michael T. Strickland, founder and chair of Bandit Lites, is among those in the program’s inaugural class.

Citizens with demonstrated community and professional leadership from every region of the state bring their diverse backgrounds and experiences to an in-depth exploration of the complex issues facing Tennessee, with a focus on how leaders can collaborate to effectively address them.
Thirty accomplished individuals from across the state were chosen. The group will meet multiple times over the coming year to address issues critical to the state of Tennessee to collectively seek possible solutions. The opening event will be held in August and centered around a meeting with Governor Bill Haslam.
“I am humbled and honored to have been chosen to participate in such a prestigious group and promise to engage and deliver on the tasks at hand,” Strickland said.
Strickland is an alumnus of Leadership Knoxville, Society of International Business Fellows, CNN USA Entrepreneur of the Year, University of Tennessee College of Business Distinguished Alumni, chair of the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and sits on many other boards.
