MIDDLETON, WI — It’s ETC summer school. No, it’s camp for ETC lovers. No, it’s a three-day ETC party. No (and yes), it’s ETC’s second, biyearly CUE end-user event, taking place July 23-25 in Madison, WI. Registration for the conference is filling up fast, so ETC urges people to sign up soon. CUE registration details and fee information are at http://www.etcconnect.com/cue.

At CUE, lighting and entertainment-technology professionals and novices will gather in the heart of ETC country, at Madison’s Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center, overlooking one of the city’s five lakes. The event is open to all people interested in learning more about how to use ETC products and more about ETC. It is also a great way to spend a few days meeting and connecting with other like-minded industry people to share ideas and knowledge on lighting technology, lighting design and rigging.

There will be mini-courses on everything from console programming and hybrid-rig and LED smarts, to career tips. There will be keynote speakers, such as Tony-Award-winning LD Don Holder and ETC’s CEO Fred Foster (who always has a surprise). There will be plenty of opportunity to play with ETC products in hands-on labs. There will be a rock concert at ETC, plus tours of the company’s acclaimed factory-headquarters in nearby Middleton, plus great meals, evening free time and beautiful views.

Hard to contain as a ‘conference,’ CUE is short for “Create, Understand and Experience” — with an emphasis on fun.  Watch a CUE video at http://youtu.be/-WCoqGWRJBc.
