LONDON – The Royal Albert Hall recently played host to the 2013 Mountbatten Festival of Music. The three nights featured Massed Bands of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines and captured the versatility of some of the world’s finest military musicians. To mark the occasion and as a treat for the musicians and the audience, the Marines were given ‘West End’ treatment with special lighting. The Royal Albert Hall’s Richard Thomas designed the lighting rig, which was supplied by a number of lighting companies. Richard Martin Lighting (RML) provided 24 Sharpys, of which Martin said, “They made the show!” Festival proceeds went to the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund and CLIC Sergeant.
