MIDDLETON, WI – ETC is expanding its dimming and power control line with the introduction of the Source Four Dimmer, which can be attached to any conventional Source Four to provide per-fixture distributed dimming in 120V markets. The Source Four Dimmer uses ETC’s new ES (Electronic Silent) technology for fan-free, noiseless operation for acoustically sensitive venues. ETC also introduces the ES750 Dimmer, which has the same functionality as the Source Four Dimmer, but it can work with any type of fixture. The ES750 can be a remote dimmer for any application and comes equipped with a power input and output to a choice of connectors.

MIDDLETON, WI – The more than three million Source Four fixtures shining brightly throughout the world just got a new companion. ETC is expanding its dimming and power control line with the introduction of the Source Four Dimmer, which can be attached to any conventional Source Four to provide per-fixture distributed dimming in 120V markets.

“For decades, lighting professionals have relied on the security that our Sensor® family of power control offers,” explains Jake Dunnum, ETC dimming and power control product manager. “Now we’re taking that same expertise out of the dimmer room and attaching it directly to the fixture, reducing cabling and making lighting layouts more flexible.”

The Source Four Dimmer uses ETC’s new ES (Electronic Silent) technology for fan-free, noiseless operation. At one meter, the Source Four Dimmer’s noise levels are rated 0dBA, a solution for acoustically sensitive venues, such as concert halls, opera houses and theaters. Says ETC Associate Entertainment Market Manager Matt Armendariz-Kerr, “The Source Four Dimmer is so quiet that you can install a hundred of them on a rig and still hear a pin drop.”

In addition to the Source Four Dimmer, ETC announces the ES750 Dimmer, which has the same functionality as the Source Four Dimmer, but it can work with any type of fixture. The ES750 can be a remote dimmer for any application and comes equipped with a power input and output to a choice of connectors.

The dimmers meet today’s changing power-control requirements. “There’s a big push in the industry now to go green,” says ETC Marketing Manager David Lincecum. “In an effort to accomplish better efficiency, other manufacturers have scrambled to produce mediocre LEDs. Along the way, they abandoned tungsten and the quality of light it provides. At ETC, we’re focused on creating products that are not only eco-friendly, but also preserve that quality of light. With the Source Four Dimmer, we’ve made it easier to create an efficient hybrid rig.”

Source Four fixtures with a Source Four Dimmer attached are easy to layer into a rig with LEDs. Simple switched power can be sent to lighting positions to run all LED and tungsten loads at the same time. An existing distributed data network can control Source Four Dimmers, LEDs and moving lights. The Source Four Dimmer features onboard controls for local operation and RDM for remote setup. It also offers the ability to set DMX addresses, change curves and receive status information.
