LAS VEGAS — The best of the live entertainment industry are coming to Las Vegas for the Parnelli Awards this October, and before the awards, they’ll be on the links playing in the PLSN/FOH Parnelli Celebrity Classic golf tournament on Thursday, October 18 at the Arroyo Golf Club in Las Vegas. And speaking of the awards, the cut-off for nominations — including the extended deadline for Indispensable Technology (“IT”) award nominations — is this Friday, Aug. 31 — at NOON (PST).
Proceeds from the tournament go to the Parnelli Scholarship fund, which supports the next generation of live entertainment professionals at UNLV—but the tournament will be stocked with current leaders in the industry as well as celebrity guests. While this year’s guest list hasn’t been confirmed, past participants have included Alice Cooper, Denny Laine, Little Anthony, Mac Davis and others. So what are you waiting for? Sign up today!
“The Parnelli Celebrity Classic golf tournament is always a highlight of the Parnelli weekend,” said Terry Lowe, publisher of PLSN and FRONT of HOUSE magazines. “It’s a chance to rub elbows and enjoy a great afternoon of golf with some backstage and onstage legends.”
The Parnelli Celebrity Classic will be held at the Arroyo Golf Club this year, right next to the peaks of the Red Rock Recreation Area, offering players spectacular natural views while overlooking the Strip and, of course, some of the best golf in Las Vegas.
“The course is beautiful, and plays great,” added Lowe.
4Wall Entertainment and Daktronics have already signed on as sponsors for the tournament, but more sponsorships—including the 19th Hole Awards Ceremony, Longest Putt/Longest Drive/Closest to the Pin, and Beverage Hole—are still available.
Tee-off is at 1 p.m., but players are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy a boxed lunch, pick up their swag from our sponsors, warm up, participate in the putting contest and take pictures with the showgirls. The tournament itself is a shotgun-start best-ball scramble. There will be a dinner buffet and awards ceremony immediately following the round of golf. A silent auction, also supporting the Parnelli Scholarship fund will take place during the dinner buffet, carrying over to the Parnelli Awards on Saturday, Oct. 20.
