NEW YORK – MB Productions, in association with Event Resources, helped celebrate Cartoon Network’s 20 Anniversary at their 2012 Upfront. Cartoon Network’s upfront gives advertisers an inside look at new programs and returning favorites of the 2012/2013 season. Honoring all things cartoon, New York City’s Roseland Ballroom space was transformed by giving the attendees an unique experience of a behind the scenes look at how cartoons are choreographed by seamlessly meshing together fast moving animation from popular CN shows, live music from the Orchestra of St Luke’s,  live cartoon voice overs and on the spot foley sound effects.

To enable to have the live audio in sync with the pre-recorded video, Dataton’s v5 watch out servers were selected to run all content. All content had embedded Audio 7.1, making it possible to blend the pre recorded video material with the live action foley, voiceovers and orchestra.

The key piece of the presentation was a High Def projection system provided by MB Productions.  President Brian Brooks says:  ‘We are rolling out the brand new Christie Roadster HD20K-J series projectors. It’s exciting to be one of the first vendors in North America offering this new technology from the Christie projection line.”

For the presentation a prominent 17’ x 28’ Draper stage screen was selected.  The screen seamlessly meshed together with the scenic material framing it, making for one huge picture highlighting the action.

To enable the entire staff of the Turner Network to tune in into the event via a private webcast, a two-camera Sony HXC-100 HD flypack was deployed that was tied together with a New Panasonic AV-HS410 multi-format production switcher.

Said Brooks, “The stage was set for this to be a great looking presentation.  We had the right gear and a dedicated crew making the support for this show effortless.  The end result is our client is happy and the advertisers walked away with a lasting impression.”
