STAMFORD, CT – Around the world, growing fire safety concerns are dramatically impacting the production of scenery, props and lighting. Fire Marshals and building inspectors have become ever more diligent in adhering to strict fire retardant and building regulations.
That’s why Barrier FR, Rosco’s new fire retardant paint product, will be such a welcome addition for technical directors, facilities managers and scene shops everywhere.
Barrier FR is a zero-VOC, water based, vinyl-acrylic, intumescent paint that provides a Class A fire retardant rating when properly applied to many of the common materials used in scenery, props and staging. It has been designed to meet the stringent requirements of commercial building codes and is suitable for use on scenic elements installed downstage of the fire-curtain, on touring shows/exhibitions, in museums or other public spaces and in any situation that will face a higher level of scrutiny for flame-retardancy.
Available in black and white, BARRIER FR is suitable as a back paint, a finish coat or may be over-painted with compatible scenic paints or clear sealers. Rosco offers it in single gallon pails and five-gallon buckets. Available in 55 gallon drums upon request.
