LAS VEGAS — Sade’s 2011 Live World Tour included U.S. dates after a European leg, the first tour for the artist in a decade. The visuals, like the stage, are clean and spare —described by some as “a palette cleanser.” Chaos Visual Productions provided visual support.

The design team for the U.S. run, which began in Baltimore in early May, includes production manager Malcom Weldon, artistic director Sophie Muller, lighting designer Baz Halpin and director Larn Poland.

The visual centerpiece is an LED video wall made from 364 WinVision tiles — 28 tiles wide by 13 high — that measures 51 by 23 feet in size. There are also four side screens (two 20-by-13-foot screens, two others measuring 16 by 9 feet in size.) These are lit with six Barco 20K projectors and four Barco 12K projectors.

Chaos Visual’s support crew included John Bedell, Kyle Brinkman, Hannibal Contreras, Nate Fountain, Jr, and Michael Brent.
