Elation's arena-scale CMY color-mixing Platinum Spot 15R Pro moving head is comparable to 700-watt and even 1,200-watt fixtures in output, yet is only about one-third the size of a conventional 700-watt moving head (16.1"L x 16.5"W x 21.3"H) and draws one-fourth the power.
The latest in the company's Platinum Series moving heads, the Platinum Spot 15R uses the 300W Philips MSD Platinum 15R lamp, which makes the output-to-size/energy use ratio possible.
Features include a flat, even light field, quickness on pan and tilt, as well as on color/gobo changes, expansive palette of custom colors plus 8 dichroic colors and 22 gobos (8 rotating and replaceable), a 3-facet rotating prism and strobe effect.
A variable Frost Filter lets the Platinum Spot 15R Pro function as a hybrid spot-wash fixture by applying frost to diffuse the hard-edge beam. The unit also offers a motorized iris, motorized focus and 0-100% mechanical dimmer and variable zoom from a 9° to 27° beam angle.
The Platinum Spot 15R also comes with a built-in Elation EWDMX wireless DMX receiver. When used with an Elation EWDMXT wireless transmitter (sold separately), the fixture can receive DMX signals wirelessly from up to 3,000 feet away.
The fixture offers a pan of 540°/630° and tilt of 265°, and the Platinum Spot 15R Pro can run in three different DMX channel modes, the standard being 23 channels. At 16 feet, it emits a brightness of 10,500 lux/975 foot-candles.
Dimensions are 16.1"L x 16.5"W x 21.3"H/ 409 x 419 x 541mm and the fixture weighs 48.9 lbs./22.2 kg. The MSRP of the Platinum Spot 15R Pro is $6,999.95.
