Golfers and guests at the Old White Course at The Greenbrier during an official stop on the PGA Tour stayed informed with an LED video display from Upstage Video, a Daktronics rental partner. The 15-by-40-foot Daktronics video display included 50 modular PST-12HD LED panels to display graphics, leader rankings, sponsorship messages and live television feeds from The Golf Channel and CBS Sports.
In addition to the video display, Upstage Video also provided the graphics and signal distribution for the event.
"The Daktronics panels do a nice job of cutting through sunlight, which is essential for events like The Greenbrier Classic," said Doug Murray, president of Upstage Video. "Our client was beyond happy with the display's performance."
PST-12HD panels feature 7,000 nits of intensity, a new pixel layout for enhanced contrast and viewing angles and 19-bit image processing for image quality.
The Greenbrier Classic proved memorable – during the final round, Stewart Appleby, a 39-year old professional golfer from Australia, shot a 59 to win. Appleby became the fifth player in history to shoot a 59 in an official PGA Tour event, and the big screen let everyone in attendance get a close-up view.
