DALLAS – With the primary visuals limited to a hole in the ground, groundbreaking ceremonies aren't always big on visual drama. So for the official unveiling of the future 42-story Museum Tower upscale residential building in Dallas, the ceremony organizers relied on GoVision's GoBigger mobile HD LED screen for large-scale artist's renderings along with I-Mag of the proceedings. Although it doesn't soar 42 stories into the sky, the GoBigger unit did bring a 19-foot-by-33-foot HD screen to the media event attended by Dallas mayor Tom Leppert, Lt. Gerald Brown of the Dallas Fire-Rescue Department and other local dignitaries and VIPs. (Brown is also chairman of the board of trustees of the Dallas Police and Fire Pension System, which is funding the $200 million project, set for completion in mid-2012.)
"The GoBigger unit was instrumental in conveying the excitement of this landmark addition to Dallas' skyline," said Greg Greene, principal of Turtle Creek Holdings, one of the Museum Tower developers. "An undertaking of this magnitude and long-term significance deserved to break ground with some sizzle, and GoVision's giant screen made that possible."
"GoBigger crisscrosses the country to enhance some of the biggest and most important events there are, from Presidential inaugurations to Super Bowls to Final Fours and more," said Chris Curtis, CEO of GoVision. "But we're always especially proud when we get to be a part of history in our own backyard."
Hosting 122 luxury residences, Museum Tower will overlook the Woodall Rogers Park being constructed above the Woodall Rogers Freeway. Its builders are pursuing the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED certification.
