Chauvet's new, compact Legend 300E Spot and Beam fixtures, set to ship in July, are designed to allow designers to cover a larger area with fewer fixtures because of their bright output, which surpasses that of fixtures with higher power ratings. Chauvet said the fixtures' brighter output is made possible through a carefully designed optical path and a powerful Philips MRS Gold 300/2 MiniFastFit lamp. The MiniFastFit socket also allows for quick and easy lamp changes.
Both fixtures come with CMY and CTO color mixing systems with vector speed for smooth color changes. Each has a color wheel with seven pure colors and white, split/linear colors and rainbow color spin at variable speeds.
Pan and tilt are 540 and 270 degrees, respectively, for the Spot and Beam fixtures. Automatic pan and tilt correction plus pan and tilt locks are standard features. An advanced control system allows for quiet, fast and precise (16-bit) head movements.
The Legend 300E Spot produces 10,730 lux at 2 meters. It features two variable speed gobo wheels. One is indexed and has seven rotating slot-n-lock glass gobos plus open, and gobo shake. The other gobo wheel has eight fixed gobos plus open. In addition, this fixture ships with two extra gobos.
The Legend 300E Spot also features static frost, a 3-facet rotating prism, an iris, a shutter with variable speed, and focus. These features, along with a wide zoom range (4 to 20 degrees) and a 16-bit dimmer, allow for a wide variety of effects.
The Legend 300E Beam projects a bright 3.67-degree beam. It has seven rotating and shaking gobos plus white, a 3-facet rotating prism and variable frost, which provide for additional beam shaping effects.
Both moving heads feature high efficiency electronic ballasts and power supplies with power factor correction for reduced interferences and better compliance with local utilities.
The Legend 300E Spot and Beam are easy to maintain due to their modular design. Their light weight and compact size make them well-suited to a variety of professional applications.
