The MAC III Performance profile moving head has a new interleaved framing system with full crossover of each blade and continuous rotation for new projection, framing and effects possibilities. Touted for its variety of shapes, it is available as a stand-alone fixture or as an upgrade that installs in minutes on any existing MAC III Profile. The MAC III Performance's continuous rotation framing system allows four individually controllable shutter blades to be micro-adjusted in an unlimited variety of positions to refine beam shapes, and continuous rotation allows the image to revolve successively at any angle.
Each shutter blade can move across the entire beam to a complete blackout. That way, more shapes are possible and any shape can be positioned in any part of the field of light. This flexibility in shapes comes via an interleaved system, which also enhances focus for all blades.
The shutter system is designed to allow gobos to be seamlessly crossfaded in, and all four blade edges are designed to stay in uniform focus for an sharper projection.
Primarily used to frame set elements and performers, continuous rotation framing allows the MAC III Performance to also be used as a new kind of effect light.
The MAC III Performance includes Martin's gobo animation system, which can project effect simulations such as rising flames, drifting clouds, driving rain, turbulent water and more.
This combination of a framing and animation system in one moving head is an industry first, according to Martin, giving designers new projection and mid-air effects possibilities.
The 1500 watt MAC III Performance includes the features of the MAC III Profile: efficient optics, CMY color mixing, color wheel, variable CTO, dimming, zoom, modular design, electronic ballast and quiet operation. The fixture is also RDM compatible and on-board software creates a service and event log for download.
The MAC III Performance module easily converts any MAC III Profile into a MAC III Performance in less than five minutes and back again, if necessary, giving users the benefit of two separate luminares at an affordable price.
The swappable module consists of a framing system with continuous rotation, shutter, iris, rotating gobo wheel (five gobos), animation wheel and color wheel. Additionally, a frost filter is supplied to replace the prism.
