COLUMBUS, OH — Jeff Dunham’s 2009 comedy tour may be called “Spark of Insanity,” but Live! Technologies, which is handling lighting, video, staging and audio for the Comedy Central standout is all about keeping things sane — and seen. For the “Spark of Insanity” tour, Live! Technologies starts with a James Thomas Engineering lighting structure, pictured above, and a package of LED and moving lights gives the stage a rock star treatment. A 19-foot-by-25-foot Seamless Stewart screen lit up by 20K Barco FLM projectors, pictured below, also makes Dunham’s characters larger than life.
“Because of our size, our extensive equipment resources, and our experience on the road, we can handle the scope of work required for this kind of tour, all within house,” said Live! Technologies VP Shawn Lovenguth. Promoter Robin Tate also called Live! “a great fit.”
Along with lighting director Matt Reid and lighting technician Brian Mann, the Live! crew includes video director Brandon Mendenhall, video technician Kelly Walsh, crew chief/head rigger Steve Quinn, camera operator/carpenter, Timothy Bates, audio technician Doug Maynard, FOH engineer Montie Temple and two truck drivers, Mike Skrastins and Matt Claus.
“Because we have invested in people, training and equipment, Live! Technologies can provide clients with the complete audio-visual package,” said Rusty Ranney, president and CEO. “Even though we have expanded our business to include corporate clients and special events, we love getting back out on tour. We take pride in being able to hit the road running, and we are honored to have been chosen to work with Jeff Dunham and Tate Entertainment.”
