TAMPA, FL — Super Bowl XLIII gave an extra boost of energy to this year’s celebrations, including Bud Bowl ’09, where Keller, Texas-based GoVision LP’s “GoBigger” HD mobile LED unit tackled the challenge of giving 20,000-plus revelers a better view of performances by Snoop Dogg, Three Doors Down and other acts. With a 19-foot-by-33-foot screen, GoBigger is the largest HD mobile LED unit of its kind. A three-camera crew covered the event, supplemented by live video feeds from VJs hired to mix the music and run video and graphic content. GoVision also microwaved live footage to two nearby establishments at the request of Mowalla Productions, which produced the event for Anheuser-Busch.
“A show this big needed a screen like GoBigger to make sure everyone had a great experience,” said Jim Dorroh, Production Manager for Mowalla. “GoVision’s team did an outstanding job for us all weekend, even making sure a couple of eleventh-hour requests were handled without a hitch.”
Mowalla enlisted Sailaway Productions to provide staging, video and décor for the event. Sailaway, in turn, hired GoVision as its A/V partner for the show.
“We worked several major events around the city during Super Bowl week” said Stan Tipton of Sailaway Productions. “GoVision’s professionals handled their role seamlessly, which made for one less worry on my plate.”
“We took GoBigger straight from the steps of the U.S. Capitol for the Obama Inauguration to Tampa for Bud Bowl,” said Chris Curtis, CEO of GoVision. “Two very different events to be sure, but our role in each was critical. We appreciate the level of trust placed in us not only to provide the biggest and best equipment, but to deliver state-of-the-art image processing as well.”
