Barbizon Miami Opens New Facility, Plans BLUE Show

MIRAMAR, FL — Barbizon Lighting of South Florida is set to open its new facility here on Feb. 26 with the BLUE show (Barbizon Lighting’s Ultimate Equipment show.) Live event customers will be able to network with colleagues from Film & TV Broadcast, Theatre, Cruise Ship and Architectural Lighting. All BLUE Show Sessions are to be held in Barbizon South Florida’s Demo room.

The current schedule is:

10 a.m. to 11 a.m.: “Lighting for HD,” by Gary Thomas of Videssence
11:15 a.m. to 12 p.m.: “Color Use in Stage Lighting/Gobo & Projection,” by KC Hooper of Apollo Design
12:15 p.m. to 1 p.m.: “Wireless Control,” by Adam Klein of City Theatrical
1:15 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.: "Green Lights for Television Studios," by LD John Gates
2:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.: “Lighting for Worship 101,” by LD Tom Stanziano of Sea Changer
3:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.: “Whole Hog 3 Overview,” by Jim Ohrberg of SeaWorld Orlando
4:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.: “Color is How You Light It,” by LD John Gates

Manufacturer representatives from Apollo, Arri, Cartoni, Chauvet, City Theatrical, Coemar/Inner Circle, DeSisti, Electronic Theatre Controls, InterAmerica Stage, Kobold, Lee Filters, Lex Products, Martin, Mole Richardson, Osram, Philips, PixelRange, Robe, Rosco, SeaChanger, Selecon, Ushio, Videssence and Wybron will also be on hand, as will the Florida Film Production Coalition, to talk about their work on the Florida film production tax incentive efforts.

A raffle for attendees will also be held, for items including an iPod Touch with Swatch from Wybron, Victorinox Swiss tool from Kobold, a Hui Flood One fixture from Selecon and a C-Stand from Matthews, among others.
