ETCP Council Welcomes Disney Theatrical Productions

NEW YORK — Disney Theatrical Productions (DTP) has accepted a seat on the Entertainment Technician Certification Program (ETCP) Council. The Council is the governing body that manages the development and implementation of ETCP, the certification program for entertainment technicians.

Canara Price, senior safety manager, physical production will represent DTP on the council, assisted by John Tiggeloven, VP of physical production — DTP; Joseph Mannetta, director of loss prevention and business continuity — corporate risk management; and Mark Elliot, director of safety — corporate risk management.

“As a leader in the entertainment industry, DTP is committed to becoming a leader in theatrical safety,” said Canara Price, “We are excited to participate in this proactive stance to provide a safe and healthy work environment for all cast and crew.”

DTP, a division of Disney Theatrical Group, produces and licenses Broadway musicals around the world. DTP operates under the direction of Thomas Schumacher and reaches a global annual audience of more than 10 million people in over 40 countries. Its most recent Broadway production, The Little Mermaid, debuted in 2007. DTP launched the touring stage version of Disney’s High School Musical the same year.

The ETCP Certification Council members include leaders drawn from entertainment business, labor, facilities, associations, and academia. Members include AMPTP, Cirque du Soleil, CITT, ESTA, IAAM, IATSE, InfoComm, The League, Live Nation, PRG, SHAPE, TEA, and USITT.
