TEHERAN, Iran — The Azadi Tower, made from 8,000 blocks of white marble and standing 50 meters high since it was built in Iran’s capital in 1971, is now being lit at night with a variety of LED fixtures from SGM. The fixtures, supplied by TechnoPro L.L.C., include 56 Genio Mobile units with 8° lenses, 120 Palco 5 fixtures with 8° lenses and 16 Genio Mobile units with 25° lenses. The Genio Mobile units with with 8° lenses were installed at the side of the main path leading to the tower. The Palco fixtures were positioned on the perimeter of the building’s four oblique legs, and the Genio Mobile units with 25° lens were installed on the inside part of the arch.
The fixtures did not require mounting screws, brackets or other hardware. The Palco 5 fixtures were fitted to the structure via a special channel, which was dug around the tower and then covered with glass.
The lighting is controlled by a Regia 2048 Live console, with a Regia 2048 Pro used as a backup.
