ALFC Church Glows Anew with LEDs

EL PASO, TX — The Abundant Living Faith Center (ALFC) is a nondenominational, multicultural church with over 15,000 active members and a mix of ministries and activities. After a major expansion and renovation project, the church features a new 3,600-seat main auditorium where 36 PixelPar 90s light up the backdrop in a variety of colors.

“The PixelPars are great,” said Jimmy Salas, ALFC lighting director. “We wanted easy and reliable color-changing lights that wouldn’t require a lot of power.  I get the colors I want, when I want them, they’re very bright, and they use hardly any power. I run 36 Par90s on two outlets.”

The PixelPars add changeable visuals beyond the stage that can be seamlessly integrated with generic and moving lights. All the lighting fixtures were carefully chosen to offer maximum effect and lighting coverage.

ALFC records some of its services for TV broadcasts, and that adds another challenge for the crew and gear, requiring that the stage and house lighting be properly balanced for color, uniformity and intensity.

The PixelPars, which were recommended by technical consultants Paul Luntsford (PLA Designs) and Richard Allen (RAD), are controlled via an ETC Eos console.
