Hey everyone I got some time to get this new blog out to you now. Well the past month of December has been pretty crazy. Between working and doing the whole holiday season too, the days tended to run into one another which are the cause of this delayed blog. We last left off with the Bonerama shows from earlier this month. Afterwards I snagged a couple extra shows with my local clients in Baltimore (Basshound, Damn Right, and Earthtone). It was definitely a lot of fun running around with these guys spanning from Newark, Delaware to Annapolis, MD. Let’s just say I got to rekindle some old memories with my friend Jim Beam after the gigs.

After the shows it was on home for me to see family and friends for Christmas. Santa treated me nice; he got me some cool lighting books to read and a sweet PLSN shirt with FAQ on the back (REPRESENT)! Right now I am reading “The Automated Lighting Programmers Handbook” by Brad Schiller. Next up is Glen Cunningham’s “Stage Lighting Revealed” up next. Reading through these books I’ll try to give some insight along the way. I also treated myself to Pink Floyd’s “Pulse” DVD. One word, “breathtaking” especially for ’94! My hat is off to you Marc Brickman. Oh by the way Porter Batiste Stoltz covers “Us and Them” and yes I also like to black the stage out and bring a blue up during that particular part of the tune. Anyways I will most definitely talk a little bit more about the show in my next blog. Moving along to a few Porter-Batiste-Stoltz shows after Christmas in Philly and NYC. Philly was pretty much our warm up for a huge show at The Blender Theatre in NYC with special guests Gov’t Mule the following night. Special thanks to Mario Corsi who is the Blender’s house LD for helping with programming and guidance to his cues AKA hieroglyphics on the Avolites Pearl 2008. Mario has worked with many reputable acts since the late 70’s pushing on until whom only knows. An act that stood out was definitely Twisted Sister, one of my favorites! He was great to work with and communicated great with translating my ideas to the desk. Another pleasure was to meet Gov’t Mule’s LD Kenny Harwell whom was another great acquaintance to make. He hung out and chatted with me for a bit up in LD/FOH world and even rocked out “Honky-Tonk Woman” at the console. When both of our bands were on stage he helped keep steady leko levels for his guys up on stage. The show was a great success and a great exposure for Porter Batiste Stoltz amongst Gov’t Mule and their fan base. After the show it was a long drive back to Baltimore for me. I had a day to recover to get ready for NYE and do a show into Baltimore for Earthtone and Basshound together. It was a blast and now I plan to relax for a bit. Thank heaven! In closing I’d like to extend a belated Happy Birthday to George Porter Jr.!!!
