Clearwing III plus Look Solutions Fog Photos- LIVE!

Share this Post:

Hey everyone! Well I just got to see a kick ass Les Claypool show and I'll try to write a little bit about it for next week in the mean time here's some more gear from the warehouse at Clearwing and I'll wrap it up with some live pics of the Look Solutions fogger I am reviewing. Keep an eye out for the review I believe it will be in the magazine soon! After doing this writing thing for awhile I've decided I want to teach in college once I settle down towards the end of this crazy ride. Enough babbling here's the gear…

Break outs- Used to bridge soco power connection with either stage pin, Edison, or L6-20 power. Both male and female connectors are used.

Lekos are used as spot lights in some rigs and are also used as static gobo displays. It all depends on their temperature. Lekos use different removable lenses that come in different degree focal lenses of 5, 10, 19, 26, 35, 50. (750)

Source 4 lighting – comes in variable lenses too but they are more in the shape of par cans whereas lekos are taller and slimmer. The wattage used for their lamps comes in either 575 or 750.

Lighting Tool Box contents- Lighting tool boxes aren’t just like any tool box, but they are pretty damn massive. They consist of all the essential needs you may need on a show: Med kit, stage tape, 3 phase cam locks, lamps, bulbs, rubbing alcohol (cleaning wounds or gear), steel brushes, extra safety cable, soco, dmx, tools (screw driver, pliers, etc.), extra electrical.

Other duties include testing gear and organizing it properly after it comes back from a show or before it goes on another one. Unfortunately if it isn’t your own crew on sight you won’t get everything back the way you found it. So that means you’ll have to go digging through road cases to make sure it’s all there and put it back the way you sent it before you do any shelving. Here are some fresnels I tested recently…

After testing it was time to put the proper lens back on for everything. Lekos come in certain degree and lens. Source 4’s come in three typical lenses: narrow (NSP), medium (MFL), and wide (WFL). The way to tell them apart are their ridges narrows having no ridges, mediums have a pattern on 6 and wide’s have a pattern of 12.
