Soooooooooooo I was unaware that the headlining act was an act that pretty much has a residency playing at the Cubby Bear. They were awesome! It was just a two piece of acoustic and drums. Some parts were loops but when you have only two on stage you need samples. They were really cool guys who play what I like to call Latino Whites Stripes. I characterize it that way because they are a two piece like the White Stripes, but more Latino roots based. Which rocks their drummer is like a combo of drum and percussion melded into one. As for our show I wish we had more time to play but oh well we were the opening act. Since we were the opener I just worked with the house system. Their house light guy Keith is a great dude. He’s worked with House of Blues and does part time at the Cubby Bear. Their rig consisted of 8 ACL’s four on stage left and four more on stage right. They had a good assortment of pars for stage light as well that were controlled with a dimmer console separate. Their moving light rig had Matrix 300, Studio Spots, and Cyber Lights controlled by an Avolites Azure 2000 console. I had a great time runnig their rig. The Azure 2000 is fun I’ve noticed that all Avolite consoles run LTP on the fly. Where as I’m practicing with software demos on my CPU on HTP. But EFF it! I’m learning both methods and I’m getting good at both! Here are some photos from the show:

After that gig we went on to Quigleyville. A small but hip college town where we had a great turn out of family and friends. Quigleys is a great Irish bar with a minimal setup of only 2 of my LED pars that evening. SO I got to have some Half and Halfs which was fun. Oh and a crazy drunk girl wanted a CD for free when we loading out the whole band was messing with her so bad it was hilarious. Quigleys also has great servers there especially Maggie, Frenchie, and Debbie.Very pretty ladies 😉 Next blog I will be talking about how much down time sucks on tour, an amazing Galactic show I caught while I've been chilling, a few more shows left to play here in the mid west, and some homage to my people who've helped along they way. Thanks again for reading.
